If equities continue to rise and the dollar is devalued, then you are going to see some friction once Congress gets back from their vacation. Congress needs to get on the ball for the 2010 elections coming up and if the dollar is hitting new lows, oil rises more and foreign concerns about the dollar continue to leak, then you will begin to see more Congressional hearings and bills to pry into the dark corners of the Federal Reserve. And the one thing the Fed cannot stand is Congress. I see more dollar devaluation being politically risky for the Federal Reserve.

Market certainly appears broken, but the earnings season might be the white knight here. Can't get short.

Despite nice gain market is traded all over the place. The tape is very emotional. Not a good sign.

Dollar is so oversold but can't rally. Crash always occurs in an oversold market after all the hopes for rebound are lost. If dollar fails 74.5 an avalanche will be triggered. People is going to dump dollar wherever they can.

TPC,

Being short might be dangerous through earnings season. What about being long? What odds do you place on the market going up significantly versus down? What do you see as the potential each way?
