ANZ CEO: THE GLOBAL ECONOMY IS NOT AS SOUND AS SOME REALIZE

2 May 2010 by Cullen Roche 1 Comment

Great commentary here from the CEO of Australian based ANZ, Mike Smith. Smith unloads an unusual dose of honesty (from a banker no less!) on listeners when he says the economy is probably much weaker than most are willing to admit. Smith believes we are far from out of the woods and that the second half will prove pivotal in the global recovery.

Do not underestimate this man and the ANZ Bank. They are smart, patient and decisive. They have many strategic options available. Oh, and their shareholders will back them with buckets of suddenly valuable aussie dollars.
