This week’s edition of bear versus super bear brings two heavyweights together. In the black corner is Marc Faber who says the market is still at risk of declines and that China is going to crash in the coming year:
Meanwhile, in the flaming red corner is Bob Janjuah of RBS. Janjuah says the Euro is at risk of going to par with the dollar. Little extrapolation is required from that statement. The rising dollar and crashing Euro would be catastrophic for risk markets and is most likely to occur only in a very dire scenario:

Could someone explain why a rising dollar and crashing Euro would be catastrophic for risk markets?
I think because it takes away from the “carry trade”.
