You obviously never read his research when he was at ML. Your statement/observation about being "more bearish" is plain wrong.

Economic statistics should not be (mis-)construed as investing advice. Obviously, despite a lot of poor economic data the markets have been rising. People with money to invest/speculate with should probably note that.

Thanks for the kind words. It's interesting how much more bearish he sounds when released from the grips of Merrill....

Thanks TPC. Love the blog by the way. It's quickly becoming a favorite, and you should be linked to from CR.

The Rosenberg thing didn't work for me, so if you could keep posting the info I would appreciate it.

When all is said and done - David Rosenberg will prove to be the man. Just FYI - I sent him an email questioning him about his Baa paper call. Right after that, it took off 30%.. He's a blackberry geek and does reply to emails.

I thought I even saw Doug Kass saying that equities were pricy again. That guy has been cold as ice this year although he claims to have called "the" bottom.

You can't deny the long trade has been working, and if you're after fixed income, there are always good deals. It might have legs right up through August. Be nimble. The long GDX short GLD trade has been working, but I think that trick is spent. Another is long Nat Gas, short oil, but I don't like that as much.

When you can get low risk sweet yields like that, you have to take it.

That's about as bearish as I've ever heard Rosenberg. I wonder if he left Merrill because of pressure to spin things differently.
