		<description>They don&#039;t mention that Stan O&#039;Neal gave Ken Lewis a call in 2007 when Merrill&#039;s mortgage holdings started to crack, to see if BofA was interested in buying Merrill.  Stan took a beating for going around the board of directors to try to initiate a deal.  It was, at least superficially, part reason for his dismissal.</description>
