I don't understand the hostility, frankly. Jeff Saut HAS been on the right side of this market for the past year or so. How many analysts do you know who TURNED cautious in January. Most are either perma-bears or were wildly bullish even with the VIX under 20. I deeply respect Mr. Rosenberg, but I believe he does not pretend to make short-term market timing calls, as Mr. Saut does. As for factoids, Mr. Rosenberg has more than his fair share, but his market timing has been lacking. There is no substitute for "down in the ditches" trading experience for making money in these markets

Rosie already put Mr. Saut in his place a month ago when Saut was screaming to buy stocks. Saut is a hack working at a 3rd rate shop.

Does Mr. Saut ever include any data to support his factoids ? What data does he have to support:
- selling stampedes last 17 to 25 sessions
- markets rarely bottom on a Friday, once they are in a downtrend

While Mr. Rosenberg has missed this past rally, at least he presents an extensive amount of data to support his conclusions.
