NO ONE’S FAVORITE LEADING INDICATOR

The U.S. continues to ignore no one’s favorite leading indicator: China. As we mentioned last week, this might just be the one market (or two if you prefer the Shanghai) to keep an eye on for future market movements. The buyers are clearly out celebrating Y.E. Yang’s stunning win over Tiger Woods because none of them showed up at the exchange this morning:

    If you compare HSI with EWH, or compare FXI with SHANGHAI stock index, or EWZ with Brzil index, you could clearly see the top occurred at least 2 days early. Smart money has been building the short positon. This does not bode well for the emerging market as well.
