BULL VERSUS BEAR

In this segment of bull versus bear we pit Gary Shilling, president of A. Gary Shilling & Co. against Jeremy Siegel, a professor of finance at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.  Shilling is still very bullish on bonds and bearish on stocks.  Shilling thinks the consumer is in disastrous condition and will continue to hunker down and save.  Shilling says commodities are clearly in a bubble.

Siegel, on the other hand, says GD is likely to come in at 4%, stocks are very inexpensive and earnings are likely to continue surprising on the upside. Naturally, based on this outlook he is very bullish.  Siegel is particularly bearish about gold prices.
