David Beckworth wishes bloggers ran the Fed (well, I’m sure he’s not serious about that – maybe he is), but here’s what he had to say regarding a recent poll at the FT:

From the latest Kauffman Economic Outlook, a quarterly survey of economic bloggers, we find this figure:
That would certainly make for an interesting FOMC meeting. You’d have 3 guys who want to abolish the institution they work for, 5 who think that QE involves “money printing” and other mystical monetary powers (which it doesn’t), 1 who understands that the Fed is the other half of the US Treasury and then 3 randomly confused guys. Thankfully bloggers don’t run the Fed!
